TOPAZ
A fine stone appreciated by jewelers, topaz presents different colors. The most common is blue topaz, relatively rare in its natural state, blue topaz is often treated. Mazet Joaillerie has slightly blue-toned specimens that have not undergone any treatment and reveal natural inclusions: air bubbles, veils, milky spots, drops or channels.

Extremely rare and therefore sought-after, imperial topaz displays a color ranging from golden to orange red. The peach shade is the most beautiful. It is only found in Ouro Preto, Brazil, and reaches considerable sums. Topaz also comes in pink.
Already used in the time of Ancient Egypt, the Greeks and the Romans, these stones adorned beautiful pieces of jewelry belonging to the Tsar of Russia and 19th-century Russian figures. To create the designs requested by its customers, Mazet regularly travels to Brazil on the hunt for imperial topazes.

Topazes are sourced from Brazil, Sri Lanka, Pakistan, and Russia. They present a hardness of 8 on the Mohs scale.
