MORGANITE

morganite1.jpg

Morganite is a pink-colored fine stone. The manganese that it contains gives it this hue, which varies in intensity and mauve shading, and is fully displayed on stones of a certain size.

Relatively rare and little known by the general public, morganite is appreciated by jewelers. A member of the beryl family, it comes from deposits in Afghanistan, Madagascar, and Brazil.

In addition to morganites ranging up to 50 carats brought back from its travels, Mazet Joaillerie offers green beryls in a lime green tone of varying intensity, which have never been treated.

Morganite presents a hardness of 7.5 to 8 on the Mohs scale.
