aigue1.jpg

Aquamarine is renowned for its magnificent transparent blue color. Belonging to the beryl group, this fine stone owes its singular hue to the iron that it contains. Particularly prized in deep blue, it also comes in light blue and ultramarine.

A key stone in the Art Deco period, aquamarine remains widely used in the world of fine jewelry. Mazet Joaillerie sources it directly from Brazil to offer you a wide selection of shapes and weights.

Aquamarines generally come from the Minas Gerais region in Brazil. Other deposits are found in Afghanistan, Pakistan, Mozambique, Nigeria, and Madagascar. It presents a hardness of 7.5 to 8 on the Mohs scale.
